We’re looking for a skilled Polisher to join our manufacturing team in Pontypool. This is a hands-on role for someone with a sharp eye for detail and a strong understanding of paint rectification and polishing processes, working on high-quality parts where finish really matters.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for rectifying paint finishes on parts using machine-operated polishers, ensuring every product meets exacting aesthetic and quality standards. Working closely with the paint department, you’ll use your technical expertise to identify defects and apply the most effective solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing surfaces and rectifying paint defects such as inclusions, orange peel, and other contaminants
  • Operating machine polishers and hand-polishing where required to meet finish specifications
  • Working to strict deadlines while maintaining consistently high-quality standards
  • Following defined processes while also contributing ideas for process and quality improvements
  • Ensuring parts are produced to the highest possible standard, right first time
  • Completing process documentation in line with build instructions

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in paint rectification and polishing processes
  • Strong knowledge of sanding materials and polishing techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on visual and aesthetic quality
  • Ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Confidence to suggest improvements that enhance product quality and efficiency

Additional Information

  • This role is currently day shift, though shift patterns may change to meet business needs
  • No direct reports
  • A strong commitment to health & safety, environmental standards, and company values is essential
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and safe movement of parts is a key part of the role

If you take pride in producing high-quality finishes and want to be part of a team where your expertise genuinely makes a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
