Vehicle Operation:

  • Operating a skip lorry (HGV Class 2) to transport skips to and from customer locations.

Delivery and Collection:

  • Delivering and collecting skips to both commercial and domestic customers.

Safe Loading and Unloading:

  • Securing skips on the vehicle and unloading them at designated sites, following all safety procedures and guidelines.

Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Conducting daily vehicle checks, reporting any defects, and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle.

Navigation:

  • Safely navigating urban and rural areas, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.

Customer Service:

  • Providing excellent customer service, communicating effectively with customers, and addressing any concerns or issues.

Paperwork:

  • Completing necessary paperwork, including delivery and collection notes, and maintaining accurate records.

Compliance:

  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations, including those related to driving, waste management, and site safety.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 license: This is the primary requirement for operating a skip lorry.
  • Driver CPC qualification: This is essential for professional drivers.
  • Good driving record: A clean driving record is typically preferred.
  • Physical fitness: The job can involve some physical activity, such as loading and unloading skips.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills: Effective communication with customers and colleagues is important.
  • Attention to detail: Ensuring accurate paperwork and following safety procedures are crucial.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Skip drivers often work independently but also need to coordinate with their transport team.

Hours and Salary
50 Hours per week guaranteed, Monday – Friday
£40,300 per annum
